Week of March 19

This week, I've found some great language and vocabulary games for you to try.

At Learning Planet's website, you can help Rusty Rat catch the falling adverbs and adjectives. Remember, adverbs describe verbs and adjectives describe nouns. You can also review common and proper nouns with Rusty Rat, or review distinguishing between nouns and verbs.

Next up is a game from Maggie's Earth Adventure called Clean Up Your Grammar! In this game, trash in the form of nouns and verbs are littering up your lovely pristine beach. Recycle the words to the correct bin to clean the beach up!

Last, but not least, is a second game from Maggie's Earth Adventure called Short Circuit! In this game, you must fix Maggie's computer by fixing computer shorts. Match prefixes or suffixes with their correct meaning to help Maggie get her computer up and running (start out on an easier level before progressing to a harder level).

Internet Picks: Week of March 12

Today, first practice your reading comprehension by visiting The Zoo in My Back Yard! If it doesn't load correctly (it was acting up a little on my classroom computer) visit Hints About Print and click on "Go to Demo."

Once Mrs. Perry's recorded your score, you may:

Play Figurative Language Hangman!

Practice idioms by visiting Funbrain's Paint by Idioms!

Enjoy!
